Maia Merav Holtzman is a designer of jewelry, accessories, and objets.

With a bold aesthetic and a focus on statement pieces that are innovative yet polished, Maia creates for the client who reveres imagination and individuality. Her designs are often intended as fetishistic, protective adornment, rather than as a statement of status or as simple decoration.

Dedicated to a philosophy in which design and craftsmanship are the focus, one in which “imperfections” are viewed as central elements rather than concessions, Maia’s commitment to the complimentary use of traditional and alternative materials and forms defines her ethos, as does her commitment to quality, savoir-faire, and ethical sourcing and production.

Maia attended the jewelry design program at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, after which she was engaged in the service and repairs department at Bulgari, where she had the opportunity to examine the construction of some of the finest pieces of jewelry in the world. This experience gave her an understanding of how to approach design as an engineer, and taught her one of the concepts most central to her process: a design is only as good as the sum of its parts, seen and unseen.

Headquartered in Downtown Los Angeles, Maia Merav Holtzman’s jewelry, accessory, and industrial designs are produced locally, using a combination of technical expertise and traditional handwork. Maia designs and builds each prototype herself, and she credits her unique take on structure and color to an international perspective and to a lifelong fascination with contemporary design.
